For improv comedy in Las Vegas, compare a dated performance with a participatory jam or a class. BLEACH advertises a monthly improvised play, Mom’s Basement Theatre lists several comedy and improv formats, and Vegas Improv Power offers classes. Those are different purchases; choose the experience and actual date before comparing prices.
Where to look for improv
| Provider | Published format | Planning question |
|---|---|---|
| BLEACH: Your Show | A long-form improvised play built from an audience suggestion; its site advertises the third Thursday each month. | Is your date actually listed, and what are that performance’s venue, age and admission conditions? |
| Mom’s Basement Theatre | Improv shows, live comedy, jams and classes; its calendar distinguishes individual formats. | Are you buying a seat to watch or registering to participate? |
| Vegas Improv Power | An improv school with separately listed courses. | Does the course’s full schedule fit your visit, or do you need a genuinely available single-session option? |
Use the primary listings: BLEACH’s show description and ticket link, Mom’s Basement Theatre’s current program and Vegas Improv Power. A recurring-series description does not guarantee a performance or seats on every expected date.
BLEACH: a story made during the performance
BLEACH describes Your Show as a made-up play inspired by one audience suggestion, sometimes including music. Its description says audience members will not be called onstage. That statement is specific to this production; it should not be used as a participation rule for every improv event.
The group’s ticket link leads to a Vegas Theatre Company event listing. Check the actual dated booking, rather than using an older August or October event page for a future trip. Vegas Theatre Company lists its address as 1025 S 1st Street, Suite 110, in Las Vegas. Confirm the venue shown on your selected event before setting the journey.
Mom’s Basement: separate watching from joining in
Mom’s Basement Theatre advertises improv and other comedy at 3441 W Sahara Avenue. Its program includes shows such as ComedySportz, alongside separately identified jams and learning opportunities. A stand-up show, an improvised scene format and an open mic need not provide the same experience.
Read the event description for age limits, participation, seating, start time, online versus door pricing and cancellation conditions. Use the dated ticket instructions for timing. An adult comedy event elsewhere does not establish this event’s minimum age, and a general welcome to a jam does not establish that every show is suitable for children.
A class needs a separate booking decision
Vegas Improv Power publishes courses with defined schedules. Before registering, check the number of sessions, dates, prerequisites, attendance expectations and refund terms. Do not assume an advertised multiweek course is a drop-in activity for a short vacation.
If you want to try performing once, find an explicitly available workshop or jam for your dates and ask about beginner participation. If you only want to watch, choose an audience ticket instead. Compare the complete course or single-session price before registering.
Compare the complete evening
Hypothetical example for two: two final-price $20 tickets total $40. Add $30 of return transport and $20 of optional refreshments, and the outing costs $90. Two $35 final-price tickets beside your hotel total $70 if they add no travel or purchases: $20 less in this example. These are invented inputs, not venue quotes.
Check the actual ticket total and any mandatory charge, then include only the food, drinks and journeys you plan to buy. A small independent venue is not automatically cheaper than a Strip production after transport. Do not rely on a general promise of free nearby parking.
For other formats, compare our comedy-magic and adult-variety alternatives. Our off-Strip area and outing guide helps place the venue in a workable route, while the after-midnight guide helps check the rest of a late evening.
