Plaza in downtown Las Vegas lists single-zero roulette on its current official table-games page. That is a useful venue lead, but it does not confirm an open table or a particular minimum at the time you arrive. Ask the casino about your planned date and time before making a special trip.
Single-zero describes the wheel, not a strategy that guarantees a profit. With standard payouts and no special zero rules, it has a smaller house edge than double-zero roulette. Your stake, number of wagers and budget still matter.

Single-zero vs. double-zero roulette
A single-zero wheel has 37 pockets: numbers 1–36 and one zero. A double-zero wheel adds 00 for 38 pockets. Plaza’s tutorial lists a straight-up bet on one number at a 35:1 payout. The following calculation uses that payout and assumes equally likely pockets and no special rule changing the result.

Here is the arithmetic for a $1 straight-up wager: on a single-zero wheel, the expected net is (1 × $35 − 36 × $1) ÷ 37 = −$1/37. On double-zero it is (1 × $35 − 37 × $1) ÷ 38 = −$2/38. These are long-run averages, not predictions for one session. A short session can finish far above or below them.
“Total wagers” means the cumulative money placed across bets, including money wagered again. It is not the same as the cash you bring. Side bets, modified payouts and special zero rules need their own analysis; do not apply one percentage to every option on a table.
A lower percentage does not justify a larger stake
Illustration, not current table limits: 100 straight-up wagers of $10 on a standard double-zero wheel total $1,000 in wagers, with about $52.63 expected loss. Increasing to $25 a wager on single-zero totals $2,500, with about $67.57 expected loss. The smaller percentage has not produced a smaller dollar expectation because the amount wagered increased.
That comparison is a reason to check the minimum before sitting down. It is not a recommendation to make either set of wagers. If the available game requires more than your planned stake, skip it. What to ask before buying chips
- Is this a single-zero wheel? Look for one 0 and no 00.
- What are the posted minimum and maximum for the bets you are considering?
- Do inside and outside bets have different requirements?
- What are the actual payouts and any special rules when zero appears?
- Is this a staffed table, an electronic game or another format with separate rules?

What about single-zero tables on the Strip?
This guide does not provide a freshly verified list of Strip venues, operating hours and minimums. Rather than rely on an old table survey as a current promise, contact a property’s table-games team with your intended visit time and ask the questions above.
If the game is a reason to travel across town, include transport and time in the decision. A venue listing is useful planning evidence, but it does not turn the trip into a way to earn money. Stop when your spending limit is reached; do not borrow or increase stakes to recover a loss.
