The High Roller is the 550-foot observation wheel on the east side of The LINQ Promenade. One rotation takes about 30 minutes. Choose the ticket that covers your intended visit, then allow additional time for arrival, entry and boarding.
The practical choice is between the view, an open-bar experience and a product offering expedited entry. Those benefits are different; compare the actual ticket before comparing its price.
How the wheel and cabins work
Arup, which helped design the High Roller, describes 28 cabins attached to the rim through V-shaped supports. The cabins actively rotate relative to the wheel so their floors stay level as the wheel turns. That is more specific than assuming the cabins hang freely like an ordinary fairground basket.
The design account also covers the wheel structure, drives and controls, cabin systems and backup arrangements. It is an engineering record, not a live operating or inspection report. See Arup’s High Roller design account. Current access or mobility questions belong with the attraction before booking.
Compare the ticket products
| Product | What to compare |
|---|---|
| Standard observation-wheel admission | The ticket’s valid date and entry window, age category and final price. |
| Happy Half Hour | A separate 21+ experience with a bartender and open bar during one 30-minute rotation. |
| Fast Pass | Ticketmaster describes expedited entry valid after 5 p.m. until closing. Check the selected ticket’s terms and included benefits. |
The current High Roller ticketing page distinguishes those experiences and lists private events separately. Do not assume that buying Happy Half Hour reserves an entire cabin for your party, or that standard admission includes the bar package.
Use the booking screen for the exact date. A daytime admission window, an anytime option and an entry time are different conditions; read the words attached to your purchase. A listing labeled midnight does not by itself establish that the wheel opens at midnight.
Our attraction-booking guide explains how to compare valid entry windows, change rules and final totals. Keep the ticket confirmation and any closure or cancellation terms.
Plan for the view you actually want
| Preference | Planning tradeoff |
|---|---|
| Daylight skyline and surrounding landscape | Choose a permitted daylight window and check visibility on your date. |
| Changing light around sunset | Check local sunset and allow for entry and boarding; purchasing a ticket does not guarantee reaching the top at a particular minute. |
| Illuminated Strip | Make sure the ticket allows evening entry and that current operating hours cover the visit. |
Ticketmaster advises that entering, riding and exiting together take closer to an hour, although the rotation itself is about half an hour. Treat that as planning guidance, with extra flexibility for the queue and your route to the attraction. Avoid placing a fixed restaurant or theater booking immediately after the advertised ride duration.
For photos, turn off the flash, watch for reflections and share the windows with the other passengers. The view changes during the rotation; no ticket promises a particular photograph or unobstructed position.
Compare the upgrade with the spending you want
Hypothetical example: if two standard tickets total $80 and two Happy Half Hour tickets total $140 after the charges included in each quote, the upgrade costs $60 for the pair, or $30 each. These are examples, not current attraction prices.
Compare that extra cost with whether each eligible adult actually wants the included service. Choosing the standard view can be the better fit for a visitor who does not want the bar experience. An open bar does not require trying to consume a target number of drinks during a short ride.
Add parking or round-trip transport and any other planned purchases separately. Check the final bill rather than an old advertised starting price.
Find the attraction and leave time for arrival
The ticketing page lists 3545 South Las Vegas Boulevard. Use the wheel’s entrance and current directions, not just the hotel name, when planning the route. Our Strip transport guide helps compare station access, walking and pickup points.
FLY LINQ is a separate zip-line attraction with different admission and rider conditions. If considering both, use the zip-line comparison and check exactly what a bundle includes. Recheck operating notices, identification requirements, accessibility arrangements and admission conditions before leaving the hotel.
Engineering source and current ticketing information checked October 16, 2026. No fixed ticket price, guaranteed queue length or new personal ride is claimed.
