Choose the room feature before paying the premium
The Cosmopolitan can be worth the extra cost when its exact room, location and facilities suit your plans. A private terrace is one reason to choose it, but a non-terrace room can also fit a trip. Compare the category you will actually book and the full stay total.
A terrace and a fountain view are separate features. If a particular view matters, book the explicitly named view category and check the confirmation. A request or hoped-for upgrade is not the same as purchasing that category.
Official room information checked October 16, 2026. Sizes below are the figures currently listed by the operator; they do not establish an interior-versus-terrace area breakdown.
Compare the current room categories
| Category | Operator listing | Reason to compare it |
|---|---|---|
| City Room Queen | 460 square feet; two queen beds; maximum four guests | A two-bed option when the resort and location matter more than outdoor space; do not book it expecting a terrace |
| City Studio | 630 square feet; one king bed; maximum three guests | A king-bed alternative to compare before paying for a terrace category |
| Terrace Studio King | 730 square feet; one king bed; maximum three guests | A private terrace with a studio layout; confirm your view category |
| Terrace One Bedroom Suite | 720 square feet; one king bed; maximum three guests | Terrace plus bedroom separation using telescoping doors |

When the terrace is worth comparing
Consider it when you expect to spend time outside at the room, rather than leaving early and returning only to sleep. If you specifically want the fountains, compare the named Fountain View product. A general view description does not establish an unobstructed fountain view from your room.
Check the floor plan as well as the terrace. The one-bedroom category describes telescoping doors between its living room and bedroom, while the studio is a different layout. Neither the suite name nor a high floor guarantees quiet. Ask about placement relative to entertainment areas, and check the property’s current terrace-use rules before making the space central to an occasion.
Compare two different premiums
First compare a non-terrace Cosmopolitan category with a terrace category on identical dates and terms. That tests the outdoor-space upgrade. Then compare your chosen category with another hotel that fits the itinerary. That tests the broader property premium. Changing the hotel, bed arrangement and view all at once makes the differences harder to judge.
Hypothetical three-night example: another suitable hotel totals $900, a non-terrace Cosmopolitan room totals $1,080, and the selected terrace category totals $1,350. The terrace costs $270 more than the non-terrace option, or $90 per night. It costs $450 more than the other hotel, or $150 per night. These are illustrative final totals, not live rates; the products are alternatives, not identical rooms.
Use the final payable amount for the same guests, dates and cancellation conditions. Include mandatory fees and taxes once, plus parking or transport you expect to use. Keep deposit holds separate. A cheaper nonrefundable rate also changes the cancellation risk; compare that difference deliberately.
Check the rest of your itinerary
The official pages give the resort address as 3708 Las Vegas Boulevard South. Use the resort maps to plan the route from your room tower to an actual meeting point, restaurant or exit. Do not use a straight-line distance as a walking-time promise. Check current restaurant menus and attraction calendars rather than assuming every part of a stay is included with the room.
If the extra cost takes money away from activities you care about more, compare a lower-total room and a separate outing. If you will use the terrace and the added cost fits your trip budget, it may be a worthwhile feature to buy.
