Las Vegas Groceries: Stores, Hotel Food Storage and Costs

Groceries can reduce a Las Vegas food budget when the purchases replace meals you would otherwise buy and fit the room’s storage facilities. Compare the actual checkout basket, unused food and extra journey. A supermarket being off the Strip does not guarantee a cheaper complete outing.

Three grocery locations to compare

StoreVerified locationPlanning use
Target Las Vegas Showcase3767 Las Vegas Boulevard South, Suite 100A Strip grocery listing to check for the exact ready-to-eat items, drinks and supplies you want.
Vons Tropicana Avenue1131 E Tropicana AvenueAn east-of-Strip supermarket whose page lists a service deli, produce, meat and other departments.
Whole Foods Market Las Vegas Blvd6689 S Las Vegas BoulevardA separate south-valley journey; the store lists a hot and salad bar.

Use the official pages for Target Showcase groceries, Vons Tropicana and Whole Foods Las Vegas Blvd. Check the branch, available items, current prices and department hours. A store listing does not guarantee a particular sandwich or prepared dish will be in stock.

Match the basket to the room

Ask the hotel about your room rather than assuming a mini-fridge, microwave or coffee maker is supplied. Our Vdara room-category guide shows why a particular suite’s kitchen features should not be extended to every Vegas room.

Keep chilled food cold during the whole journey

The FDA’s food-storage guidance calls for a refrigerator at 40°F or below. Food requiring refrigeration should not remain at room temperature for more than two hours, or one hour when the air temperature is above 90°F. Include the journey and time before refrigeration, not just time spent in the room.

Choose food you can transport, store and use appropriately. A long sightseeing stop after buying chilled groceries does not fit that plan. Follow the food’s instructions and confirm a suitable refrigerator before buying several days of perishable breakfasts or leftovers.

Count what the groceries actually replace

Hypothetical three-day example: a suitable grocery basket costs $36 at checkout and replaces three $18 complete breakfasts, which would total $54. With $6 of additional transport, the grocery plan costs $42 and saves $12. If the added return journey instead costs $24, the plan reaches $60 and costs $6 more than those breakfasts.

These are invented basket, meal and fare amounts, not shelf prices. Include coffee or other items consistently. Do not count a leftover package as a saving if it is discarded, and do not buy food for every day if you already want a restaurant breakfast on one of them.

Plan pickup or delivery as a complete order

For pickup, allow for the journey and the store’s actual collection arrangements. For delivery, check the order total, minimums, substitutions, fees and the hotel’s handoff rules. Confirm who will receive and refrigerate perishable items. An online listing does not establish that delivery to your room is included.

The under-$50 daily food worksheet uses spending caps to check against real purchases. Keep grocery tax treatment tied to the actual checkout amount; our hotel-fee guide also separates room charges from the food budget. Choose purchases that fit your appetite, facilities and route.

Store and FDA information checked October 16, 2026. Prices, stock, services and opening hours can change. No personal shopping trips, universal daily saving, fixed basket or automatic hotel refrigerator is claimed.
