MGM: Tier Credits and room offers have different roles
MGM’s program rules distinguish Tier Credits, MGM Rewards Points and other balances. Tier Credits determine status under the program’s rules and cannot be converted into MGM Rewards Points, FREEPLAY or SLOT DOLLARS. Do not read a status-earning balance as money available to pay for a hotel room.
The MGM benefits page separately lists account access to free or discounted room offers based on play levels. View the actual offer and its conditions rather than inferring a specific stay from a tier badge.
Eligible non-gaming purchases can also matter under MGM’s program rules. Confirm the participating purchase and how it must be recorded. This does not mean every expense qualifies, or that making a purchase guarantees a room offer.
Venetian: Tier Points and Rewards Points are also distinct
Venetian Rewards’ terms use Tier Points to determine status and separately describe Venetian Rewards Points and redemption. The published terms assign one Rewards Point a $0.01 redemption value.
For arithmetic, 10,000 such Rewards Points have a stated redemption value of $100 under that rule. That is a program redemption value, not a claim that 10,000 Tier Points buy a $100 room or that points can be withdrawn as cash. Check the permitted use, availability and current conditions.
The terms also specify earning and booking-channel conditions for eligible hotel and resort spending, including exclusions for third-party bookings. Do not apply an earning rule from another program or assume an unrelated booking site preserves every benefit.
What to check in your account
- Confirm the program and balance names. Record which number represents points for redemption and which tracks status.
- Read current benefits. Check qualification at the time you intend to use a benefit, not just when you first saw it.
- Open the actual room offer. Confirm the eligible property, dates, room, booking deadline and instructions.
- Verify restrictions. Check participating booking channels, member identification, expiration and whether an offer is specific to you.
- Ask the official desk when unclear. A host, rewards desk or reservations team can explain your account; rely on the confirmed terms.
There is no guaranteed “play this much, get this room” rule here
