Choose New York-New York if your plans center on its themed setting, Big Apple Coaster and the southern part of the Strip. Consider Paris if you want a base around the Eiffel Tower and Bellagio area. Then compare the exact room, route to your main activities and complete stay total. Neither hotel is the better first-trip choice for everyone.

Choose around the places you will visit repeatedly
Put your three most important shows, restaurants or events on a map before pricing rooms. Compare the complete route from each hotel entrance, allowing for resort interiors and pedestrian crossings. A hotel can be a good sightseeing base without being close to every destination on your itinerary.
NY-NY is worth investigating when the south Strip is the focus of the trip. Paris is worth investigating when your plans cluster around the central Strip. If you expect to move between those areas often, include transport and time in the comparison.
For Monorail travel, use the operator’s current route map. It lists MGM Grand and Horseshoe/Paris stations; neither hotel name establishes a train platform at the front entrance. Check the station access route as part of the journey.
Rooms: compare the exact offer
NY-NY’s current room page lists the Soho King and Soho Two Queen at 350 square feet, and the corresponding Soho Premier categories at 450 square feet. Those are different offers. Compare bed configuration, occupancy, view and price rather than treating every NY-NY room as the same size.
At Paris, match both the tower and room name on the reservation. An older review of a different tower or category may not describe the room being sold to you. Check the current listing for its size, beds, bathroom features, occupancy and view wording.
- View: read the exact category; do not infer a particular landmark view from a general hotel photograph.
- Layout: confirm a separate living area if that is a requirement.
- Accessibility: reserve the specific features your group needs and confirm them with the property.
- Noise: ask about room placement if daytime sleep or quiet is important. An entertainment-themed hotel does not establish a noise level for every room.
NY-NY’s terms identify its rooms and suites as smoke-free while describing designated smoking areas elsewhere in the property. A smoke-free room is therefore a different criterion from choosing a wholly smoke-free resort. If the latter is essential, also investigate Park MGM’s published policy.
Pools: check the details that affect your dates
The NY-NY pool page says free hotel-guest seating depends on availability and also offers reservable seating. A room booking should not be treated as a reservation for a particular chair or cabana.
Caesars’ current Paris property information lists the two-acre Pool à Paris. If pool time is central to your decision, check current operation, age and access rules, weather restrictions and optional seating charges directly with the hotel. A review describing a calm or crowded afternoon does not guarantee the same conditions for your trip.
Food and entertainment: use current venue listings
Choose the meals and activities you actually want, then check the provider’s current menu, schedule, age restrictions and final ticket price. A restaurant’s presence in an old hotel review is not proof that it still operates or has the same hours.
The Big Apple Coaster and Eiffel Tower attraction are useful theme distinctions, but compare their current tickets separately from the room offer unless your package explicitly includes them. A hotel can suit your trip even when some of your meals and entertainment are elsewhere.
Fees and the complete stay total
NY-NY’s published reservation terms, checked for this update, list a $45 daily resort fee plus applicable tax and a $75 daily incidental authorization. Read the conditions of your particular offer. The fee is an expense; the authorization affects the funds available on your card and is not the same thing as a room charge.
For Paris, open the actual offer’s complete price breakdown and payment conditions. Do not copy NY-NY’s fee into the Paris calculation or assume an old article’s amount is current. Compare both hotels using:
- The same stay dates and number of guests.
- A room category that meets the same essential requirements.
- The complete stay total, with mandatory fees and taxes counted once.
- Parking or transport that changes with the hotel choice.
- The cancellation deadline, prepayment and amounts due at the property.
Illustrative example, not current room quotes: if NY-NY totals $600 and a suitable Paris room totals $660 for the same stay, the gap is $60. Decide whether the location and room differences are worth $60 to your group, and include any transport difference before deciding.
